From Franchisee to Franchisor
Dearonne is no stranger to the franchise world. Nearly 30 years ago, he became a franchisee with Anytime Fitness, operating multiple successful locations and ranking among the top 2% of operators nationwide. But the journey wasn’t all smooth — he also lost over half a million dollars on failed franchise ventures.
“I’ve got the war wounds,” Dearonne admitted. “But those lessons taught me how to build something better — something that creates royalties for my family, not just fees for someone else.”
That “something better” became Treazure Studios, a business born from his desire to move from paying royalties to earning them — and to teach others to do the same.
The Vision: Turning Stylists Into Investors
At its core, Treazure Studios is more than a salon — it’s a business ecosystem. Each location transforms a 5,000–10,000 sq. ft. space into a collection of private, high-end suites for independent stylists, barbers, estheticians, nail techs, massage therapists, and even medical beauty professionals.
Unlike traditional salons, where stylists work for commissions or rent chairs, Treazure Studios offers ownership and empowerment. Tenants run their own businesses inside modern, luxury spaces — with full training, mentorship, and financial education.
“We’re not just creating studio spaces,” Dearonne said. “We’re creating CEOs. You might be a stylist today, but our mission is to turn stylists into investors.”
The Problem They’re Solving
When Dearonne began researching the salon-suite industry two years ago, he visited dozens of locations across Tennessee, Texas, and Houston. One question changed everything:
“What’s your retirement plan?”
The responses shocked him.
“Every stylist told me the same thing,” he said. “‘We don’t have one — we die behind the chair.’”
That became the moment of truth. Treazure Studios was built to break that cycle — to give beauty professionals a real path to financial freedom, business literacy, and long-term wealth.
A New Standard for Beauty Entrepreneurship
Unlike existing salon suite chains, Treazure Studios goes beyond renting space. The franchise will provide every professional with:
- Business structure training — help setting up LLCs, operating agreements, and accounting systems.
- Financial education — courses on credit, taxes, and home ownership.
- Access to vendor partnerships for tax services, credit building, and marketing tools.
- Ongoing mentorship through an internal academy and biweekly classes.
“We’re teaching our people to get out of the cash app and Venmo hustle,” Dearonne said. “We want them to run legitimate businesses — to build credit, own assets, and create generational wealth.”
Building the Franchise Blueprint
From day one, Dearonne and Ken approached Treazure Studios with military precision. Both veterans, they applied their experience in planning, structure, and leadership to the business model.
The first step was a comprehensive business plan and brand guideline — their “blueprint.” Then came market analysis, which led them to the booming Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) region as their launch market.
“We chose to go a mile deep instead of a mile wide,” Dearonne explained. “DFW has massive job and population growth, tax advantages, and it’s a hub for entrepreneurship.”
Their first location, a 25-suite luxury facility in Farmers Branch, North Dallas, is scheduled to open Fall 2024.
The Numbers Behind the Model
Treazure Studios is designed for scalability and strong returns. Each location includes around 25 rentable suites, each generating $250–$350 per week depending on size.
The business itself operates with minimal overhead — no inventory-heavy systems or W2 employees — just leased spaces and recurring income.
“It’s a real estate play at heart,” Ken said. “We’re using the same software that manages our multifamily portfolio to run these studios. It’s simple, efficient, and scalable.”
This low-expense, high-margin structure makes Treazure Studios ideal for both active entrepreneurs and semi-passive investors seeking stable cash flow.
A Culture of Empowerment
Beyond profits, Dearonne and Ken are passionate about building a positive culture. They view each studio as a community — a place where professionals can grow, network, and learn from one another.
“It’s about development, success, and winning,” Ken said. “We’re creating a space where people feel supported and inspired to grow.”
The long-term goal? Over 800 Treazure Studios across the U.S. and international markets, creating thousands of new entrepreneurs — and reshaping the beauty industry from the ground up.
Lessons in Leadership and Legacy
Dearonne often compares the journey to planting a tree.
“We’re not dying behind the chair anymore,” he said. “We’re retiring under a tree — one we planted ourselves. When that tree grows, it gives shade to our families and the next generation.”
That’s the legacy Treazure Studios aims to build — one studio, one stylist, one investor at a time.
